Logical Inconsistencies in Blair Witch

Conundrum

Yesterday evening my wife, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law viewed the new 2016 release of “Blair Witch”. I can tell you right off the bat that there is a very glaring problem with a key piece of information in the story. If the Blair Witch house was never found after the original film, how would they have all of the footage? I think that is a fair question to ask. Warning!! Spoiler information below…

Theories

After viewing the film we made a quick run to the pub to watch the tail end of the Texas A&M / Auburn game where we came up with the following ideas.

The Blair Witch is an alien

I know what you’re thinking. “What the f#$k do you mean”? Well, there are some interesting parts of the film that lend credence to this idea. The main one being the light display near the end of the film. James and Lisa both look outside and see some very bright (what looks to be some sort of array of) lights. They last only for a moment, but they appear to indicate some sort of craft.

The Characters are caught in a time warp

Earlier in the film the group are watching footage from the original expedition online. Later in the movie, when Lisa and James find the house, it’s apparent that the footage is from Lisa. How could the footage from the house exist before they film it? Is this what happend in the original film to Heather?

Well, I think this merits another viewing. Some things just can’t be reconciled.
